TIPS!
Promotion of your art!
* Paper size *
The basic start is the size of the paper you draw on. Most people start learn to draw on plain copy paper. After learning a few basics and some techniques they eventually move on to specialty papers purchased at a craft or art store.
These papers come in a range of sizes but never in the standard sizes. (8.5x11)
They draw something they want to put on the web and PROBLEM! The scanner is too small for it.
I suggest to simply have the paper cut at the local office supply store to the standard size before starting the drawing.
* Scanning *
Purchasing a good scanner is a good investment. Even a good quality scanner will only run in the $150 price range. When the images are posted on sites to sell the prints the image needs to be scanned in at least 500dpi. This allows the site to sell images of good quality even in the larger sizes. Keeping your customers happy with the quality is of utmost importance to keep your work circulating.
(You can take your work to some print shops where they can give you a digital image of you work also.)
